......just wanted to let you guys know, I will be doing an interview with Carter Up All Night, Tuesday night, 10pm CST... we shall be talking about the Weird Texas book, and perhaps other things odd, strange, and generally weird (like me, ahahahhaa!)!

Hope that some of you will 'tune in' and check it out! Just follow the above link to Carter's 360 page for the online interview- be there, or be square! :P

Still busy as Hell. But I wanted to share these latest pics from the last B&N book signing...

Even more people came out to meet us at this one, and they were all so great, it was muchly appreciated- thanks El Paso! In related news, this week Weird Texas made #1 bestseller in El Paso- again, much thanks to all the local people out there supporting the weird... *does Happy Banana Dance*

Ok, just wanted to share that... *shy grin* Thanks you guys, for the super-kind comments you all have been making about the book and stuff! You all rule.

BTW I will be out of town for a few days, personal business... but I will try to let everyone know when I get back. Til then, ta-ta friends...

Yes, I AM still alive over here, everyone... *waves* Just been overwhelmed with business and book promo stuff, and I've had barely a chance to get online or do anything. Oi.

Mark, Lobo and I have been working our boo-tays off....

In recent book news, I had my very-first book signing at one of the local El Paso Barnes & Noble stores on August 30th, of course Markus & Lobo were there with me... it was a blast. We met so many people who were into the weirdness- from the ages of about 8 to 98- and we sold a lot of books. And it really tripped me out to see my name printed on a SIGN (Heather Shade is my 'nom de plume', btw, for those who are confused, heh) Oh wow!

I will be doing another B&N book signing soon, too (Sept 3rd). In fact, I have also been doing a series of radio interviews recently on the book as well, so check here if you wanna see the whole schedule of upcoming 'appearances'.

Also in recent book-exciting-ness.... the El Paso Times did an interview/article with me about Weird Texas, which was verrrry thrilling for me (hometown paper, and all) You can check out the El Paso Times article online here, if you wanna...

...oh, and on a final funny side note- notice how they very-delicately cropped out MY BOOBIES from the original bio pic (which you can see here, for comparison, ha ha) in the version that they ran in the paper.

Too much boobiness for newsprint??!! Heh heh heh.

Well... hope everyone is doing well.... back to work.... *whip-crack!!*

Just FYI.... I have added a page listing upcoming 'Appearances' (book signings, radio shows, etc) on Lost Destinations, for those of you who are keeping track... *wink*

Weird Texas- yeeeeeHAW!!

  • Aug. 11th, 2005 at 5:33 AM

YAY- the Weird Texas book is finally out, and holy smokes was it worth the wait!! The Marks have done it again- it's AMAZING. And I am super-proud to have been a part of the project. Wow- I am a published author; my work is credited under my nom de plume (or whatever-the-fuck ya call it)- 'Heather Shade'. I just can't help being ever-so-excited... *does Happy Banana Dance*

The Shadester gets WEIRD In Texas...

I wanted to mention that I will be doing book signings (book signings- a goofball like me... oi!) here in El Paso, on August 20th, 3:00 PM at the Barnes & Noble on Viscount, and September 3rd, 3:00 PM at the Sunland Park location... so you local people come out and say 'hi'!

Also for the El Paso area folks, this coming Monday (the 15th) at around 8:30 a.m. I will be on the KLAQ (95.5 FM) Morning Show. In addition, I will be on KWTX-FM Waco TX with Darren Taylor and Chrissy, on Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at 8:40 AM-8:55 EST, for those of you in the Waco area (I may be doing some more radio interviews and other various stuff, I will let you all know more about the details of those as they come up...)

In honor of the book coming out, I have posted an update on LD featuring one of the weirder places we found while out exploring for the book- the creepy 'Chinese Graveyard'... an odd cemetery in San Antonio with an interesting urban legend. Enjoy.

And otherwise, we've just been supersupersuper-busy with book-promo-type stuff, and also having fun hanging out with Lobo- whose ass I finally dragged down here to Texas- yes! *huge grin* So, that's what's up with the lack of recent updates.... just pure busy-ness....

Hopefully I will catch up with you all soon... meanwhile, check out the Weird Texas book you guys....! *hint, hint* :P
